Pierre Paul Audate, Haiti

Master in Development Practice Candidate

 

Citizen of Haiti, Pierre Paul Audate is a Master in Development Practice Student at Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), he graduated with honors at EARTH University in Costa Rica, where he obtained his Bachelor degree in Agricultural Sciences in 2010. Pierre has a lot of experiences in Natural Resources Management and issues related to Climate Change. In 2009 he realized his internship in Soil and water Science at Tropical Research Education Center of University of Florida. In 2010 he attended Clinton Global Initiative University with a commitment to run a project called Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Education to mitigate Climate Change. In 2012 he attended again Clinton Global Initiative at Georges Washington University for his work as Business Advisor in Haiti.

 

Pierre Paul Audate is Co-funder of “Youth Adaptation Lab”, a new initiative that invite young people to take actions in order to fight against global challenges. As Action Partner for Oxfam International Youth Partnernship he is developing the project with other Action Partners from different countries.  From February 2011 to February 2012 He worked as a Business Advisor for Haiti Hope Project with TechnoServe and he helped thousands small Haitian mango farmers to market their products. From February 2012 to January 2013 he was promoted Training Manager for Technoserve in Haiti and have developed several training materials for Production, Commercialization, Fair Trade and Orgnic Certification of Mango in Haiti.

 

Pierre Paul attended several international events where he represented youth delegations. In 2008 he attended 4th World Youth Congress. In 2011 he attended the United Nations Conference on Climate Change COP17 in South Africa. In 2012 he attended the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development where he run several presentations on Food Security in order to influence the negotiators.

 

 

 

Sandro Mont Serrat, Brazil

4 H Graduate Research Student

 

Sandro has been working as 4-H Youth Profesional, Extension Educator Project Manager, and Agricultural Consultant in Brazil USA, and Costa Rica, generally, during 13 years. His practical and professional experience gives the responsibility to grow several projects in the Rural Amazon as Territorial Development Coordinator of Pará State Brazil.

 

He was the first young Brazilian to come to Nebraska developed, as an Extension Intern, an Entrepreneurship and Leadership Project to Latino youth. He also have international experiences in Costa Rica as Research Student and his graduation project was to lead the process of strengthening the youth entrepreneurship in rural areas of the Atlantic Region of Costa Rica.

 

Sandro is a 4-H Graduate Research Student with focus in Environmental Socioeconomics issues (MSc. Program Degree) at CATIE University; he is ending his thesis now. His thesis is a pioneering baseline to 4-H youth research and impact evaluation in Costa Rica, titled “Building Sustainable Programs in Rural Extension: An analysis of 4-H positive youth development contributions on well-being communities in Costa Rica”. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Agronomy and Natural Resources from EARTH University, Costa Rica. He speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese, also have some knowledge’s about their grandparent’s native language Tupi.
