PROJECTS

Adaptation Clubs:

 

Are group of 10-15 young people meeting on a monthly basis to discuss global challenges such as: Climate Change, Food Insecurity, Gender Equity, Poversty and Sustainable Development. Every month the club take one Community Action that could be: Building an organic garden in the neighborhood, Running a waste management workshop, Organize a campaign to raise awareness

 

Become a volunteer and work with an adaptation club in Haiti or Cuba for a few days.

 


Entrepreneurial Project:

 

Identify young people who want to do feasibility study for entrepreneurial projects and find people who are able to invest small amount of money ($300 to $5,000 u.s) in those projects. People managing the projects will be required to submit reports and statements on the evolution of the projects. Each semester (6 months) the profits from the activities will be shared between investors with a small percentage for YAL.
YAL will develop different training materials in order to train those people on the rules and the process of the entrepreneurial projects.  Also, people will be trained while running the projects.

Small Business Push Project:


Identify small Business facing financial challenges and find people who are interested to invest their money ($500 - $10,000) in those businesses in order to make profit. YAL will invite small enterprises to be part of the “YAL Small Business Push”. The enterprise will be committed to provide statements and action plans to YAL, we will do an evaluation and will find people with interest to invest in the business. 

Business Plan Competition:

 

YAL will organize annually a Business Plan Competition for young entrepreneurs and reward participants who demonstrate talent, business strategy and innovation in their proposals. The 3 winners will be automatically be part of the entrepreneurial projects process. 
The competition will have 3 phases:
Online registration where participants explain their business ideas and YAL will select some people to make proposal
Online submission: People will be invited to submit business proposal and a group of experts will evaluate the proposals
Final: 10 finalists will be invited to be part of the face to face final. A group of expects will evaluate the finalists and choose 3 winners.

Adaptation Standards:
 
This is a set of principles written by YAL members to help partners to address environmental problems. Once partners apply adaptation rules, their product will be recognized as a YAL product and may receive advertising space in YAL activities Examples of activities that can be taken into account in the standards are: Energy and Water saving in the offices, YAL standards can define initiatives to encourage companies / organizations to save water and energy spreading awareness messages to employees through flyers, workshop etc...

• Working Conditions
• Social Projects
• Waste management
• Certified Organic / Fair Trade
